Work Skills/Volunteering group. Clients take part in a variety of volunteering opportunities, which can range from working with a national charity at a local nature reserve to volunteering at a local animal sanctuary. Our volunteers gain valuable transferable skills as well as make a positive difference in their community.
Mondays are our adventure day. Clients take part in a variety of different activities, including bush craft, nature walks, team games, cooking and crafts. There are regular opportunities to take part in more adventurous activities for example, archery, climbing and water sports, with qualified instructors in safe controlled environments. Equipment hire and instructor fees are included within the daily attendance charge.
Tuesdays have a community feel, where clients make use of local facilities. This could be visiting the library or museum, having a coffee in a cafe or taking the opportunity to do some personal shopping. At least once a month we work on a photographic project, as well as collaborate on a range of art themes.
Wednesdays are an “out and about day”. We use our minibuses to explore and visit different places of interest in the area. See our gallery or Facebook page for an idea of places we have visited. Equipment hire and admission fees are included within the daily attendance charge.
Thursdays are packed full of a variety of different activities. These include basic cooking, cultural dancing, arts and crafts and world discovery. Each season, clients choose what theme they would like to follow.
Fridays the emphasis is on relaxation. Clients choose, prepare and cook lunch, then eat together in a relaxed atmosphere. In the afternoon there is the opportunity to take part in a sensory activity.
